IT IS FINALLY OVER!! Massive Jubilation Floods APC As Court
Strikes Out PDP’s Case Against Them, What Next For PDP?
ambassadorofi.blogspot.com
It has been reported that a Federal High court sitting in Abuja has struck
out the suit filed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against APC.
The suit was filed by a senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) in Bauchi state, Garba Dahiru. Dahiru had
asked the court to declare him the winner of the election in Bauchi South
Senatorial District and issue him the
certificate of return as the All Progressives Congress (APC) which polled the
most votes in the election did not have a candidate.
The APC had failed to provide a candidate as there was confusion in the party
over who is the authentic candidate for the Bauchi
South senatorial poll is. The Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) decided to declare the APC the winner of the
election.
Results of the February 23 election as announced by INEC showed that the APC
garnered 250,725 votes, while Dahiru scored
175,527 votes. Returning Officer, Ahmed Sarkin-Fagam, said he could not
declare a winner for the election because APC had no
candidate recognised by the law. as it had failed to substitute its
candidate, Lawal Gumau, as directed earlier by a federal high
court.
The judge at the federal high court in Abuja, Taiwo Taiwo, in his ruling on
Wednesday, held that it is a post-election matter and
that the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain it. He added that the
appropriate court for the matter is the election petition
tribunal.
Taiwo said the court could not decide on the candidacy of the APC since it is
already a subject before the appellate court. He
added that doing so would merely amount to an academic exercise.
Addressing journalists shortly after the judgment, the INEC lawyer, Alhassan
Umar, thanked the court for a well-considered
judgement, while Prisca Elesike, who is counsel to Mr Dahiru, said: “an
appeal is a better option.”

Meet The Nollywood Stars Who Left Christianity And Converted To Islam ambassadorofi.blogspot.com Of late, it has nearly turned into a pattern for Nigerian performers to relinquish the religion they grew up with and change to another. Islam is by all accounts the last goal for a large portion of these actors and they even arrange trips for themselves as a gathering on journeys to the Holy Land of Mecca. 1. Moji Olaiya Moji was destined to Christian guardians, her dad being the amazing Nigerian artist Victor Olaiya. She was raised in Christian ways despite the fact that her mom was a Muslim before changing over to Christianity. She finished changing over to Islam in the wake of enduring a couple of conjugal burdens. Moji has been hitched twice and the two relational unions stopped. The single parent of one expresses that Islam gives her more power and internal quiet. In one of her meetings, she confessed,”Honestly, Islam is a tranquil r...
Meet the “Yahoo Boys” ambassadorofi.blogspot.com Many undergraduates in Nigerian universities dabble in internet fraud. Nicknamed “yahoo-yahoo” after the international web portal and search engine, this perfidy has become a way of life for the young con-artists. Many of these fraudsters – dubbed “yahoo-boys” – have become filthy rich. Some have been caught by the law. In April 2012, Olasaidi Dare, an undergraduate of the Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for an attempt to obtain money under false pretences in a cyber-café. On June 5 2012, a Federal High Court in Kaduna State sentenced Imonina Kingsley , of the University of Ilorin, to 20 years’ imprisonment. He defrauded an Australian of US$1,000 by presenting himself as a gay person from the Republic of Benin. He was charged for impersonation, possession of fraudulent documents and attempting to obtain money by false pretences. These cases attest...
